Hannah Lipschutz, LMHC-A

Mental Health Counselor Associate

Pronouns: She/her/hers.

Meet Hannah Lipschutz, LMHC-A

I offer online and in-person individual therapy with older adolescents, college students, and adults.  I most frequently work with clients who are interested in doing work that focuses on relationships: both with themselves and others. I believe that all behavior makes sense in context and I work collaboratively with my clients to understand this and achieve a greater level of authenticity. My areas of specialty are anxiety, trauma, eating disorders, relationship difficulties, and LGBTQIA+ affirming care. I also frequently work with neurodivergent individuals. I have expanding interest in working with clients with complex trauma and disabilities. I am a person-centered therapist and prioritize therapy that is tailored to the needs of each client by incorporating evidence-based practice such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family system (IFS), Mindfulness, and Emotion-focused therapy (EFT).

My Background

I earned my Master’s degree in Professional Clinical Counseling from the Loyola University Maryland. I received additional training through a clinical internship, where I worked with low-income adolescents and adults who had experienced trauma. I have training in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), emotion focused therapy (EFT), and LGBTQIA+ affirming care. In addition, I have experience treating eating disorders at both a residential and partial hospitalization level of care.

My Approach & Philosophy

I aim to create a supportive, nurturing environment in which my client feels safe and empowered to explore, process, and challenge themselves. I value what each client brings into therapy and aim to understand clients’ insights, unique qualities, and experiences. We all live within systems (family, school, friends, etc.) that impact us. I support my clients in exploring, understanding, and confronting these systems and their impact on their well-being. I am intentional about creating a radically supportive, safe space that works to validate and normalize my clients’ experiences and help them grow into the person they want to be.

I would be happy to talk to you further and answer any questions you may have, and I look forward to working with you!
